Robert T. Hulton

A most successful athlete, coach and administrator, his career spanned more than 50 years except for a short time as a Navy pilot in World War II. He was an outstanding basketball and tennis player at York High and continued his success at Grove City College. He joined York Junior College in 1945, winning seven state junior college basketball crowns. During this same time he was seven-time York County singles tennis champ and ten-time doubles titlist. Began coaching at Gettysburg College in 1957, winning 247 basketball games in 19 seasons. He ended his college career as Director of Athletics from 1983 to 1989. He is a member of the York Sports Hall of Fame and was twice honored by the College Basketball Officials Association.
