Edith P. Reinhart

Spent 41 years in education as pioneer coach of girls field hockey and volleyball at Gettysburg High School. She began interscholastic field hockey at Gettysburg in 1966, posting 82 victories, had two undefeated teams and won two conference titles. At one stretch, her teams won 32, lost six and tied five. In 1970 she began the volleyball program, serving 14 years as head coach. Her teams posted an 83–64 record, going 39–13 in the last four years of tenure, and won one conference title. She served 11 years as head of the health and physical education department; ran the annual track and field days; and served as cheerleader coach.
