Marvin F. “Babe” Breighner

Known as Mr. Baseball, has been involved with Littlestown baseball from 1932 through 2000. Lettered in soccer, basketball and baseball at Littlestown High School and joined the town baseball team in 1939. Following World War II, spent two more years as a player before managing the team in 1947. His team won two Penn-Maryland League titles and five South Penn crowns. During that span he posted a 170-43 record with the 1982 team winning 23 games. He was instrumental in starting Little League and Pony League baseball and served 20 years as a coach on both levels. Also served 28 years on Littlestown High’s Athletic Council.
