He earned 12 letters at Biglerville High School; was named to seven All-Conference teams; All-State football team and the Big 33. Went on to graduate from the University of Pennsylvania in 2001. Was named to that school’s Hall of Fame for his stellar baseball career. Named to Rawlings and Collegiate Baseball Magazine’s All-American team; was a top five NCAA batting leader (.455); ECAC Regional first team; Ivy League MVP plus two-time All-Ivy first team. Also set University of Penn RBI record with 55, as well as second highest season batting average, third single season home runs; and second all-time single season hits.
