A 1965 Bermudian Springs and 1969 York College graduate, Parker is well known as an outstanding high school athlete, a player, manager and executive in the South Penn Baseball League, a PIAA baseball and basketball official, and as a professional baseball umpire. Parker also served as a rules interpreter for his PIAA officials’ chapters. He umpired in the state baseball tournament including behind-the-plate in the Eastern Championship game. He also officiated for 12 years in the District III basketball tournament and for three years in the state tourney. His professional baseball umpiring saw him handle chores at both the A and AA levels. He served the South Penn Baseball League as its president/commissioner for more than three decades.
