Denny was synonymous with Delone Catholic High School football for almost three decades. Succeeding John Gastley in 1979, he held the head coaching position through 2006, amassing a record of 220-101-3. Those 220 wins were the most wins ever by a coach in the Hanover area. His teams captured six District titles after qualifying for the play-offs 14 times. His teams also won or shared three Blue Mountain League titles and seven YAIAA championships. He has also been elected to the South Central Chapter of Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.
