For over 40 years, Gardy has been involved with football. He graduated from Delone High School in 1969, being part of the Squire’s first unbeaten team in ’68. He also gained degrees from Shepard College and George Mason University. His coaching career includes head coach at Bermudian Springs where the 1982 squad won a Blue Mountain League championship, and head coach at New Oxford with a 2002 league crown to his credit. His 2002 squad earned him Coach of the Year in the YAIAA. He has also served two terms as an assistant coach at Gettysburg College.
