Dick’s five-decade career in sports reporting and administration began in the 1950s when, while attending Gettysburg College, he broadcast football and basketball games on WWGC and WGET radio. He was involved with Gettysburg College football through the 2005 season. After college and service in the Air Force, Dick joined the broadcast team at WTTR (Westminster) before returning to Gettysburg and assuming the post of Sports Director at WGET. He produced daily sportscasts, greatly expanded the station’s coverage of high school and college events, and pioneered the local broadcast of Little League baseball. Dick served on the board of the Adams County Sports HoF from its inception until 2011.
