James “Jim” Koontz

A 1979 graduate of Clarion University, Jim was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers and played six full seasons of professional baseball as a pitcher: 2 years at A level with Stockton, 2 years at AA with El Paso, 1 year AAA with Vancouver, and 1 year at AAA split between Louisville and Indianapolis. His overall record was 41 wins, 31 losses, a 3.82 ERA and 34 saves. At Littlestown High School, Jim was a 3-letter winner in baseball, a 2-letter winner in football, and a 2-letter winner in basketball. After his senior seasons he was a Big 33 football nominee and basketball MVP. At Clarion, he was a four-year starter on the university baseball team. Jim played for the Littlestown Dodgers for several seasons, prior to and after his professional career.
