Bryan, a Gettysburg High School graduate, led his Shippensburg University men’s track and field team as a distance runner. The capstone to his collegiate career was posted in 2011 when he anchored the Distance Medley Relay at the NCAA national championships to victory and his first All-American honors. The next day he placed second in the 5000 meter race. He was a six-time PSAC individual champion and 16-time place-winner. As a result of his athletic and academic accomplishments he was awarded the prestigious NCAA Post Graduate Scholarship. In high school he excelled in both the 1600 and 3200 meter runs that culminated in the 2007 Mid-Penn 1600 meter champion and District 3A champion in the 3200 meter run. He still holds the high school record in both the 1600 and 3200 meter runs.
