For the past 20 years Gerry has led the Delone High School girl’s basketball team to an impressive record. His 466 career wins have included four state titles including the last during the past season. For that he was named the Class 3A Coach of the Year for the fourth time. Gerry graduated from Bishop Guilfoyle High School and, in 1973, Penn State. He played baseball and basketball all 4 years in high school and during his first two years of college. His coaching career traveled through South Hagerstown High School, North Clarion High School and Liberty High School before he began at Delone. Including his earlier coaching, his record is 544–205. 27 of his basketball players went on to play college ball.
