Hillen “Hilly” Rife (Deceased)

A graduate of New Oxford High School, and past President of the New Oxford Lions Club, Hilly was known for the sport of auto racing. In 1952 he built the Lincoln Speedway. He was the owner, driver and promoter of this venue. He became the first NASCAR Regional Promoter on the Northeast coast, promoting at Lincoln, Susquehanna and Bedford Speedways in PA. In addition, he helped create the Living Legends of Auto Racing and Motor Racing Heritage in Daytona Beach, FL. He was on the Board of Directors of the Konklin Center for the Blind for which he received numerous accolades for his contributions for the handicapped. He passed away in September of 2010.
