The swimming pool brought recognition to Adams County through Amy Roth during the late 1990’s. Four straight state championships in the 100-yard backstroke (1994 through 1997), setting state records In 1996 and ’97; and three straight state crowns in the 200-yard medley (1995 through 1997), setting records In 1995 and ’96; earned Amy accolades as an outstanding swimmer. At the U.S. Olympic Festival at Colorado Springs in 1995, she finished third In the 100-meter backstroke and seventh at 200-meters. As a collegian, she swam at Princeton University and was named to the All-Ivy team.
