Carol has the rare distinction of having played on a national championship team and of having coached a national championship team. In 1980 she was a member of Gettysburg College’s field hockey team, which became the school’s first national champion in any sport. In 2011 she was the coach of Gettysburg College’s Division III NCAA champion team in lacrosse. As of 2013, her 25+ year record as head coach was 329-115 — sixth best in NCAA history. Carol’s been named the NCAA Division III Coach of the Year twice (2006, 2011). She has also served as assistant coach to the USA National Women’s Lacrosse Team which, in 2013, won the world title for the sixth time.
