Courtney “Court” Davidson O’Brien

A four-year, three-sport athlete at New Oxford High School, Courtney won 11 letters in basketball, volleyball, and softball. She was the county’s all-time leading basketball scorer with 1,783 points (still third best) and won All-State honors as a senior. Her softball team won four league championships and one District title. An appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy continued her basketball career where she set the Navy and Patriot League free throw records as a sophomore, hitting 90%. She also eclipsed 17 school records; earned First-Team All-Patriot League and CSIDA Academic All-American recognitions, and the Maryland 2004 NCAA Woman of the Year honor. A Captain, she served as a Marine Corps Pilot Flight Commander.
