Lee and baseball have been inseparable for almost his entire life as a player: 4 years in high school, 2 years at York College, 2 years in the U.S. Army, and 2 years at Penn State where he graduated in 1966. He pitched in the York Central League and the South Penn League from 1953 through 2015, earning two most valuable player awards in 1964 and 1968 at Manchester. During his career he has thrown 3 no-hitters, the last coming at the age of 50 against Arendtsville. His coaching career included Varsity Basketball at Westminster Junior High School from 1962 to 1966, assistant varsity baseball coach at New Oxford from 1967 to 1981, head varsity baseball coach at New Oxford from 1982 to 1991, pitching coach at Gettysburg College from 1992 to 1995 and again from 1998 to 2013, and pitching coach at York College from 1996 to 1997. In all, he has coached baseball for a total of 52 years and played for 66 years.
