Shain Leggett

A graduate of Biglerville High School in 2000, Leggett was one of the best wrestlers the Canners have produced. Not only did he excel on the mat, he lettered three times in football, and also played two seasons of baseball. In wrestling, Leggett compiled a career record of 133- 12. Four times he was Sectional champion, and twice was District III and Regional champion, qualifying for states three years in a row. In 1999, he was a PIAA state champion at 103 pounds, and then finished third in his senior year at 112 pounds. Leggett was a pinning machine. In 2000 he was the Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches Association Schalles Award winner, which honors those with the highest percentage of pins in each state. He pinned 34 of 39 opponents, and 87% pin rate. Leggett had a remarkable 97 career pins, which at the time was a District III record. Nationally, he was ranked sixth in the country his senior year at 113 pounds. In 2014, Leggett was inducted into the District III Wrestling Hall of Fame.
