Tricia is known as the best swimmer to graduate from Gettysburg High School. She holds the school record in all but two events. During her high school career she won 5 gold medals at the state swim meet, 4 times in the backstroke and once in the butterfly, setting the state record in the 100 back in 2004, 2005 and 2006. In addition, she also won two silver and one bronze medals. Taking her talent to the University of Tennessee she became a 3-time All-American, was invited to the Olympic trials in 2004, 2008 and 2012, was the U.S. Open champion in 2004 in the 100 backstroke and was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll all 4 years. When she graduated from the University she held its 3rd fastest time in the 200 backstroke and the 4th best time in the 100 backstroke. From 2004 to 2006 she was ranked in the top 50 in the world.
