Wilbur J. Gobrecht

A three-sport athlete at Hanover High School, he co-captained Nighthawks’ first undefeated football team in 1947, was all-conference in football and basketball and a record-setting pole vaulter in track. He won ten letters in three sports at Dickinson College and was twice named Outstanding Male Athlete, 1951 and 1952. Following a tour of duty with Marines, he guided Littlestown High to a 42-10-2 football record and three Laurel Conference titles and one co-championship in five years. Returned to Dickinson to coach football for 16 years and lacrosse for 28 seasons, both tenured records at that school.
