Joe Egresitz

Starring in football and track and field at Gettysburg College, Egresitz was one of the best linemen ever to play for the Bullets. In 1966 he was named MVP of the Middle Atlantic Conference, and was the only player in conference history to be first team offense and defense in the same year. He was also on the first team of the A.P. Little All-America team, as well as the Lutheran College All-America team. He was All-Pennsylvania first team, and on the Kodak All-America first team. He played professionally for the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins, and the Boston Patriots. In track and field, Egresitz set the Gettysburg College record in the javelin with a throw of 208’2”, which was the record until 1977. He was elected to the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 2017, and was also inducted into the Capital Area Hall of Fame and the Gettysburg College Hall of Honor.
