Kirby Scott

Scott graduated from Neptune (NJ) High School where he was a star in football and track and field. The 1973 graduate went on to Gettysburg College, where he continued his excellence. During three varsity seasons at halfback at Gettysburg, Scott broke five school records, including most carries in one season (197), most career carries (439), most carries in a game (34), most yards in a season (956), and most career yards (1,890), averaging 4.3 yards per carry. For those efforts, he was named to the Lutheran All-America team, and was honorable mention Little All-American. He went on to played semi-pro ball with the Chambersburg Cardinals, and he played for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. Scott was named to the Gettysburg Hall of Athletic Honor, and was the first African-American to be inducted. In track and field, Scott was second his senior year in the Middle Atlantic Conference in the 100, and he led off the 4 x 100 relay that ran a school record of 41.93, placing fourth at the NCAA Division III championships, and putting him on the All-America team. Scott had a career of excellence as a Special Agent with the FBI.
